German and Russian foreign ministers resume direct talks at UN

Black Sea grain exports feature in the first such talks since 2022.
Germany’s Johann Wadephul and Russia’s Sergei Lavrov held talks at the United Nations, Reuters reported on 26 September. A German delegation source said Wadephul urged work towards agreement on Black Sea grain exports. The meeting is diplomatic background to the 2 October edition, rather than a new meeting announced today.
